Summary of September boat club meeting ( not official minutes) and other updates.
We did pass several by-laws at September meeting - Associates (since members) now pay any future assessments as was part of by-laws in past; all new associates and members that join now will pay an additional $500 to initiation fee when join (now it is $1000); and deadline for marina revoking membership for not paying dues or annual fees by Jan 31 has been changed from May 15 to March 31.
We discussed year in summary and what will be focusing on in winter season (second audit, Army corp work on mouth of Stemmers run, By-law process towards by-laws, rules & policies), Sand bar next actions, camera installments, catwalk repair, possible bulkhead repair and monitoring, dredging project discussions, proper insurance coverage etc).
Ed Groce – harbormaster – is asking for help this winter to turn on and monitor ice-eaters when they are placed in the marina. Please contact him as soon as you can if can help and your availability.
Harbormaster requested assistance to install ice-eaters in the marina on Saturday, November 8 at 10am. For this reason, harbormaster has required all boats to be out of marina by November 1 – unless have approval from harbormaster.
Brian and Christi Henry are new club members. Person in front of them declined to become a member so that associate member went at back of associate member list so all moved up 2 spots!
Deep Blue was a great turnout (even on a Monday) and police officers committed to making the marina the first stop on all future events. They love this place!
Hope that helps and enjoy the Winter Season
Gerry
Marina Update:
Boat Removal Deadline & Volunteer Request
As we prepare for the upcoming off-season, please be advised that all boats must be removed from the marina no later than Saturday, November 8.
The marina will officially close on November 1, 2025.
Additionally, we’re looking for volunteers to help install ice eaters on Saturday, November 8 at 10:00 AM.
Your help is greatly appreciated to ensure the marina is winter-ready and protected from ice damage.
Thank you for your cooperation and support!

Please be sure to notify club secretary, Dawn Fluman, of any address, phone number or email address changes ASAP in order to help with club communication to all of our members. We are trying to notify members via email of all communications to help reduce costs like paper, ink, envelopes and postage.
We will continue to send communication via USPS to those preferring that method. But either way, we need current updated information on all our members so be sure to notify Dawn of any changes via email

RENTAL POLICY
This is now the policy set forth by Membership for slip rentals for all members and associates.
1. You may have a total of 3 rental opportunities for the boating season.
2. If you have a rental during a regular weekend or during the week it can be up to two nights only. You must take your boat out following the rental agreement and slips will be checked for compliance. If your boat is not removed after your rental agreement has expired all future rental opportunities will be forfeited.
3. If you have a rental on a holiday weekend it can be up to 3 nights and again your boat must be removed following the expiration of your rental agreement.
4. There is a charge of $25 per night and this must be prepaid to Membership before you will be given a slip number. There are no refunds if you do not use the slip.
5. After your request Membership will contact you if a slip is available. If Membership tells you no slips are available that is final. There are less slips available this year than last year for rental as more members have chosen to use their slips. If you do not accept the Membership chairman's decision then you will forfeit all rental opportunities for the rest of the 2024 boating season.
